What inspired you to start this company and why lip balm?

I started with lip balm because it was something I had been making for myself for years. It began out of necessity — I could never quite find something simple that met my needs. I’m very sensitive to how products feel, and many lip balms left my lips feeling drier or more irritated. Others were sticky or greasy and just didn’t have the texture I was looking for.

I originally began using lip balm simply to stop the habit of licking my lips and the cracking that inevitably followed. Over time, I also started to think about how much of it we must end up consuming. As I became more aware of what I was putting into my body, I began wondering about the things we regularly put on our skin, especially products used on our lips.

When I looked for products I could feel comfortable inevitably ingesting, I grew increasingly frustrated with what was available. So I continued refining the balm I had been making for myself.

Eventually, I started sharing it with friends and family. I was surprised by how enthusiastic the response was. Interestingly, many of the most relieved and grateful reactions came from men. It made me realize how many people feel underserved by products that are often marketed toward very specific groups.

To me, something as simple and useful as lip balm should be able to benefit anyone. Reflecting that openness in the branding and marketing is important to me. I want people to feel comfortable using these products, regardless of who they are.

What started as a small personal solution has grown into something I’m grateful to share more widely — with anyone who finds it useful.

Much love,
Jenn
